DEAR's BLOG!

Its been, almost 5 months since I last updated!

Well, a quick summary of what has happened.. ITP's over, FYP's in for the stay, CMCC's having their Freshman Orientation camp real soon, and what else? Basically just saying that I'm old (I'm not keen on this though), because..

I'm YEAR THREE ALREADY.

No kidding, the years in poly are like months when you think back about it. Whenever you're in a process, you'd feel like its taking forever. Before you start the process you are anticipating/dreading its arrival. After you end the process, you'd feel like it passes quite fast.

Just like the seven weeks in ITP. My supervisor (NO MORE!) mentioned countless times that seven weeks is too short for the company to be able to get a good grasp of the student's work ability.

Oh come on, all that is bullshit.

You say that just because you are hiring a bunch of kids in your office doing work for you. Three senior employees left, one stayed because he couldn't leave, a new one comes in. This company cycles their employees like changing underwear.

Monthly, underwear.

I seriously can't believe that interns are doing marketing communications, and the worse part is having only one intern to do all the work. That's 440 per month instead of the usual 1.8k. But no matter what, when you pay a person four-forty, that person's gonna give you four-forty's worth of work, instead of 1.8k. Thats how you made that dumb mistake back then, when you just kept quiet about it and pretend like nothing's ever happened.

Due to sensitivity issues, I can't prolong my rant any further.

Let's touch on CMCC stuff instead!
Been really looking forward to the camp in May! I didn't want to be a Group Leader because of the past experience, but I still wanted to help out, so I became the Food in-charge.

I can really tell you, planning food catering + breakfast + supper + backup is like trying to hit air with bullets when you don't even know how many people you are trying to feed. It's my first time doing food planning, all I ever did was to plan games and administrative stuff when I was in the council committee back then in secondary school.

Come to think of it, I don't really miss my secondary school days as much as before now. Guess some things or memories just detaches from you over time.

I still try my best to provide for everyone though, I won't want a similar experience to happen like last year. To me, breakfast is the most important meal of the day (like they all, your mum, your dad, the docs, everyone says), so.. we can't play games on an empty stomach right? Or even a stomach with just two slices of bread and some biscuits.. HAHA.
No way I'm gonna let that happen again.
Just to share with you, if you don't know yet. I gave my first gastric moment to the same camp last year because of the improper food planning.

No offence to the IC back then, but I really must say this. Restraining overall costs by sacrificing food quality and quantity is gonna make your campers all fuming with anger. I was thinking perhaps they prioritised the wrong things in mind.

To me, allow the campers to have fun. Give them happiness by sacrificing more of the amount you might earn in the end. You'll end up with more 'loyal' members who will be willing to let you benefit MONEY over time by signing up for the vocal/keyboard lessons, membership fees, club tee. To me, it works better that way. What's the point of earning so much when your campers (who might or might not end up as members) are not happy and doesn't wanna stay long-term?

I might question the past committee's thinkings and actions but in conclusion, I'm just voicing out my opinions, no offence at all. It's just.. questionable, sometimes.

The fun thing is that we're gonna have mini-concert during camp like last year! That's one thing I love about CMCC camps. xD

Although, I'm still having thoughts whether to perform or not. Someone give ideas/advice?

& my world is coloured by you.
